This is why:
I've already exhausted my Employment insurance, and I think I've only worked in this country for two of the four years I've been here.
I'm trying to get the disability pension that Chile offers under an agreement with Canada. I submitted the application in September and am still sending the required documentation.
I wrote my story here: https://mwab.net/about
I’ve been dealing with immigration since 2021. I had the chance to study a trade, and I worked from January 2023 to February 2025.
Two years ago after a MRI I was diagnosed with: End-stage severe degenerative arthropathy of the left hip joint characterized by severe chondral attenuation resulting in bone-on-bone impaction at the superior weight-bearing portion of the left hip, subchondral cyst, intra-articular body, collar osteophytosis and extensive fraying of the labrum. In simple words, I need a total hip replacement to get my life back.
I didn’t planned any of this.
I lost my immigration status on Feb 27th which translates in “no income”.
I need to recovery from the surgery, and ircc/cbsa can’t pretend I take care of myself without money, for that to work, I need my status restored.
I need a little bit of more help, until I can have an answer from my lawyer . She is attending with me to the CBSA meeting, I am thinking I will have some clarity before May ends.
Wish me luck!
