Help Save Austin – A Mother’s Plea for a Miracle
Hello everyone,
My name is Holly, and I am Austin’s mum. Let me share his story with you.
Austin was born perfect. For the first four years of his life, he was a happy, healthy little boy. Then, everything changed in a single day. We moved into a new home, and from that moment, he was never the same again. He started having seizures, became aggressive, and began talking to “dead” people. My once joyful, loving child became unrecognizable.
Doctors were baffled. His seizures quickly escalated to around 10 a day. As a young boy, he tried to take his own life multiple times—running into traffic, drinking dangerous substances, and even running away from home. No mother should ever have to live in fear that her child won’t survive another day.
Over time, Austin was diagnosed with epilepsy, ADHD, autism, pica, and a mild intellectual disorder. The only solution doctors offered was medication—both times, it nearly killed him. Now, he has suffered severe brain damage. The boy who once won gold medals at sports day can barely walk a few meters without needing to rest. His speech has deteriorated, and he spends most of his days sleeping, as the majority of his seizures happen at night.
I have taken him everywhere, desperately searching for help. But here in the UK, doctors have told me that only 4% of people with his form of epilepsy respond to medication. Their only advice? “Enjoy the years you have left with him.” His risk of dying in his sleep is terrifyingly high.
Austin is now 18. After years of praying for a miracle, I have finally found hope. A specialist in Colorado—someone who has successfully treated cases as complex as Austin’s—believes he can cure him. He is the first person ever to give us hope, backed by real results.
But this treatment comes at a cost—£20,000. We will need to stay in Colorado for at least four weeks. As a single mother and full-time carer, I receive only £80 a week as his carer and have no family or financial support. I cannot do this alone.
I know that no treatment is ever guaranteed, but my heart and soul tell me this is the answer we have been searching for. I refuse to accept the life sentence doctors have given him. He was born perfect, and I believe he can be whole again.
I am asking, pleading, for your help to get Austin to America and give him a chance at life. He is my everything.
And I promise you this if this works, I will dedicate my life to helping other families find the treatment they deserve—where doctors won’t. Together, we can change lives starting with Austin’s.
Please, if you can donate, share, or simply send prayers, we need you now more than ever.
With love and gratitude,
Holly
