Please help me start my transition!!

Hi!!

For those who do not know me, let me introduce myself. I am Gaia, a 24-year-old transgender woman living in Manchester. I love travelling, music, drag and fashion. I have had a tough upbringing and have struggled with my gender identity and feeling like I had to suppress my femininity growing up. I am finally in a place where I feel I can authentically be myself, however this is being really affected by the fact I will likely be waiting to begin my transition for years and years.

Nobody should have to live feeling like a prisoner in their own body. The transgender system in our country is appalling.

Which is why I need your help. The thought of living the next 6 years this way is so painful and scary. I am looking to begin my transition journey this year, using a private service. This is not ideal, but it may be my only option. Unfortunately, the price of this is not cheap. It has gotten even more difficult to consider private options with the cost-of-living crisis which seems to be getting worse by the day. I cannot afford this treatment by myself which is why I am making this GoFundMe to ask for support to build my transition fund.

If you have any money you can spare to help my cause, I would be extremely grateful more than I can put into words. It will help me begin to fully enjoy life and feel comfortable in my skin.

I believe my goal is very ambitious but I am determined to fundraise to meet my goal or make it someway to this goal. Any small amount will get me closer to that goal, even a £5 donation will help me so much.
