Please help me save my service dog, Hercules

Hercules was my first service dog and has been my partner in crime for 11 years. He has saved my life more times than I can count. He has been with me through every up and every down. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him. I owe him everything. He truly isn’t “just a dog” to me, he is my entire life. He needs help though. The outstanding vet bill I already have is over $5,000. Well, he needs a second surgery. After all this is over, I’m being quoted over $12,000 on the low end of things. I am begging for your help. I cannot lose him.

About a week ago, Hercules must have been chewing on a stick or a small piece of wood and had accidentally swallowed it. While trying to pass it, it forced its way through his intestines and completely shredded them. During the abdominal explore surgery, they found that parts of his intestines were too destroyed to save and had to be removed. They also found a wad of cotton in his stomach that had likely been there for a while. The surgical site on his intestines are failing and causing his abdomen to fill with fluid and bacteria. If we didn’t do the surgery tonight, he will die. As I’m writing this, he’s in surgery now. This is all incredibly expensive though. I’m only 20 years old, I don’t get financial help from anyone and I’ve already exhausted my savings account that I have specifically for vet bills. I need help, desperately need help.

Hercules was the reason I got through my dad’s passing. He was with me after I became homeless for a year as a teenager. Through house to house and transition to transition, he was always there. He’s always been the constant in my life, and he’s the reason I get out of bed. He’s the best dog I’ve ever met in my entire life, so many people love him. He’s so incredibly smart and picked up on his training so easily back in 2020. He saved my life more times than I can count. He alerts me to my heart when something is wrong with me because of my heart condition, and prevents me from passing out. He alerts me to oncoming panic attacks from my childhood trauma. He’s the reason I’m still alive. So please, if you could help me save him like he saved me, I wouldn’t be able to thank you enough. He’s truly the most special being, and I can’t imagine a world without him in it. He doesn’t deserve to die because I couldn’t get enough money together to save him. He deserves a chance, he deserves a life. Please, please help him live the life he deserves. Thank you so much.
