Please help me save my beautiful Kenji

Hi to every one . This is my beautiful Kenji. A few weeks ago I I noticed some strange behaviour (licking walls and pooing in the kitchen worktops ( I thought it was stress as i had been away and left my son here) .. I noticed other symptoms such as weight loss, dull coat, lack of appetite and lethargy . After being home for a week I knew something must be wrong with him . I took him to the vets were they admitted him as they noted a heart murmur and high temperature. blood tests coating over £200 showed severe anemia (10%) after being admitted and  several tests and £800 later they concluded he may have dry/neuro Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)  This is a form of corona virus in cats  which lays dormant and in 5% of cats mainly under 2 years of age comes out and causes an immune response causing neurological symptoms such as seizures and organ failure. I am devasted . He was discharged on prednisalone and antibiotics to reduce his symptoms but they vet can not give me a life expectancy.

have been researching this horrible disease all week and am totally confused as to what to do. I am getting conflicting info about vaccines, liquid and tablets and vets. If I get him treated at the vet it will cost me £900 every 2 weeks and this is an 84 day treatment If I order from internet I don’t no what I am getting as I have been told it is unregulated and the treatment is gruelling for the cat and owner as it means injecting your cat for 84days . Unfortunately my insurance only covers me for £1000 per year ( I don’t realise this until now) and this has been almost used for his hospital admittance so I have to find the funds

How could this happen to an indoor cat who has never been out the door or been around other cats? It’s a devastating virus. I would never have thought that after losing Oli my other cat to a RTA last year that this would happen again and I was going to lose him to at a young age. I put a post on face book just for memories and had a few of my friends suggest a go fund me page of which I would never have dreamed of but after thinking about it I thought well what can I lose if I don’t try. I’m sure people who have animals understand how important they are to their owners however I do appreciate there are a lot worse heartaches going on in the world that people are dealing with so even a share would help so much spread the word for me ❤️

Kenji was discharged last night on steroids and antibiotics to basically make him feel better and help him but he has basically been sent home to die. I have read about the last stages of this disease and i do not want him to go through that..

I do have pet insurance for him however after looking at the small print it looks like it’s only going to cover me for half of what I have already payed out as they only pay £1000 a year.. I just bought a policy to cover him as a kitten thinking I would upgrade it later I never thought for one minute I would be in this situation looking at thousands of pounds to save him.

if any one could help me raise even a small amount or even a share to help save Kenji I would be forever grateful to them
