Please help me Save Loki’s life

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tony Purdom and in this picture is my cat Loki. He is 2 and half, I got him from the cats protection as a kitten and fell in love with him straight away. At the time I got him I was going through a hard time in my life, my mum was in hospital and we were told she was unlikely to get out, my marriage had failed and I found out my wife had destroyed my finances behind my back, I was lonely and struggling to keep going in life, my dad and my sister suggested getting a cat to give me a focus and meaning back in life. It turned out to be one of the best things to ever happen to me. He lifted me out of my dark place, When I got him he was so shy and a bit frightened but within a day of me, showing him love and being gentle he came out of his she’ll, I’d get home from work and he would come sit on my lap soaking up cuddles and I’d talk to him and he would meow back like he was answering me and trying to have a conversation, in the early days he lived up to his mischievous name sake when I’d get home I’d go to have a bath and the plug mysteriously had been taken downstairs and knocked under the sofa.

I eventually found love again and Loki loves
my partner, absolutely adores her, as we went into lockdown, the struggles of being on my own unable to see anyone took hold but Loki was there , always there to come sit on my lap for cuddles, he got me through it, it’s like that Ricky Gervais show afterlife, where ricky’s characters dog saves his life by being there, Loki did that for me, he is there, he stopped the dark thoughts and gave me a reason.

After 2 years with my partner, we moved in, and he has loved being with both of us full time. The other night whilst raining hard we heard Loki outside crying loudly, wondered why he didn’t just climb in his window he usually does, we found he couldn’t put weight down on his back leg and couldn’t stop crying, we aren’t sure what happened whether he had a bad fall or was hit by a car.We got him to a vet the next day, I work as a Carer for disabled adults and was on a sleep in because they are relying on me I couldn’t get the day off, so my partner got him to the vet, he has a badly broken femur, we were given the options of amputation, surgery to pin his femur back together or have him put to sleep. Sadly at the moment I’m going through a very messy and painful divorce which seems to be never ending so it’s made funds tight, I have explored payment plans and phoned vets all around in hopes of saving, my boy’s life but being given little hope. I don’t want to give up on him, just like he didn’t give up on me when I was hurting and broken. Friends suggested I try this and I’m sceptical but my love for my boy is too strong to just give up, so I am giving this a try, so please anybody if you can help a little bit, just to help me save Loki’s life and get him the surgery he needs I will forever be grateful. He is such a happy, funny and loving boy everybody who meets him falls in love with him straight away please help me give my boy a chance to keep enjoying his life. Thank you for reading.
