Please Help Me Save Julian

My name is Mikayla, and I am Julian's mom. Julian is a nine month old poodle mix (yes, you heard me correctly, I can't explain it either!) Jules is so precious to me, and to his pack. He is silly and weird, and endlessly loving. He adores his brothers and sisters, he would practically live outside if he could; he's obsessed with the yard and can often be found munching grass or barking at his nemesis, the wind. He is also an ace snuggler, and his little chin folds are divine beyond measure.

Julian, we recently learned, was born with a defect called Atlantoaxial Luxation, which basically means that the bones in his neck don't quite fit together like they should. This defect, which caused him minor issue as a puppy, was exacerbated by a fall down the stairs a few months ago. Julian is now unable to walk.

The only option is surgery, and the high estimate of the procedure is $10k. This is compounded by the fact that I recently moved cross-country, left my job, and took out a sizeable loan to go back to school for a career change. It was for these reasons that I delayed getting him insurance; he's a young healthy puppy-- we can hold off a couple more months, I told myself. I have never regretted anything more because now, as a preexisting condition, I am unable to get this procedure covered. They are looking to lock down a surgery date within the next two weeks, and I got turned down for a credit card this morning. I am out of options, and time.

I am desperately asking every one of you: please help if you can. If you can't, please spread the word. He is so very young and has already been through so much in his little life. He deserves a chance to do the things that he loves, with a pack who absolutely adores him to pieces.
