My name is Adam, and I am a single father writing this with a heavy heart. I never imagined I would be in a position where I would need to ask strangers for help, but I have reached the point where I have no other option.
For a long time now, my son and I have lived under constant fear and stress due to repeated false allegations and ongoing harassment by a neighbour. These allegations have been made to the police, my housing provider, the local authority, and other agencies. Every allegation has resulted in no further action, and the courts have ruled there was no case to answer — yet the behaviour has continued.
Each day feels like walking on eggshells in our own home.
I have done everything I’ve been told to do. I’ve reported matters properly. I’ve cooperated fully. I’ve followed legal advice. I’ve tried calm, respectful, and proportionate steps to stop this — including formal boundary-setting and cease and desist letters — because I desperately want peace, not conflict.
But despite all of this, my son and I are still not safe.
Why this has broken me
I live with PTSD, severe anxiety, COPD, severe obstructive sleep apnoea, and hearing loss requiring hearing aids. The ongoing fear has left me largely housebound. I barely leave home except to take my son to school, attend medical appointments, or buy food. Even simple daily tasks now feel overwhelming.
But what hurts the most is watching this affect my child.
My son Layton is in his second year of remission from stage 4 cancer. He has already fought for his life. He should be focused on healing, growing, and feeling safe — not living in an environment where his father is constantly terrified of what might happen next.
As a parent, there is nothing more painful than feeling powerless to protect your child.
Why I need legal help
I have reached the point where I have been advised that legal representation is the only remaining way to properly protect my family and bring this situation to an end.
Unfortunately, I simply cannot afford a solicitor on my own. Legal help is expensive, and after everything we’ve been through, my resources are exhausted.
How your support will help
Every penny raised will be used solely for:
• Solicitor’s fees and legal representation
• Help with harassment and anti-social behaviour proceedings
• Legal letters, safeguarding action, and possible court applications
• Taking real steps to protect my son and secure a safe, stable home
I will be open and transparent about how the funds are used and will keep this page updated.
Why this means everything to us
I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for a chance — a chance to protect my child, to stop living in fear, and to finally feel safe in our own home.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it could genuinely change our lives. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us feel less alone.
With gratitude,
Adam
