Please Help Me Pay Bills and Relocate

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Some of you are aware that I've been fighting against a wrongful eviction from my evil landlord who is running a ponzi scheme where he lives off of the the deposits he collects from his many rental properties... he pretends to have a great relationship with you and then creates a litany of fake reasons to keep your entire deposit, no matter how fake the claims are and he is getting away with it right now because the law is on his side... He has no income of his own, he lives off of that money and doesn't have any income of his own.

Because I was affected by the Strike and not able to close a deal at work last year, I asked my landlord to let me use my 17,000 deposit to pay Nov and Dec rent.

He pretended to agree to a deal where I wouldn't have to start paying rent again until the end of January but had his lawyers file a 3 day pay or quit Unlawful Detainer against me the first week of December and I have been fighting to stay in this house as long as possible to close a deal at work but I need more time.

I had my court date last week and had to settle and accept an eviction of 30 days and then I will be locked out of my home and homeless. Nobody can take me in with my animals and I'm going to be homeless unless I can raise this money to get my own place nearby to hold me over long enough to close a deal at work.

I'm being locked out of my property on April 5th.

I have tried to sign over 3 dozen potential clients who promised to be able to pay some or all of my monthly costs and every single one of them defaulted and had lied to me about having the money and they tried to negotiate it out of my contract after I already started working for them... also, most of my friends an colleagues are also in the same exact place as me--- everyone is being evicted and has no money.

I don't qualify for any government programs because I made too much money and was an LLC, not a W-2 Employee.

This $25,000 will help me move to a smaller house in Torrance or I've been looking at rentals in Temecula for about $3,500 but I need enough money in my account to cover a few times the monthly rent to be approved to move in two weeks and I need the money to buy food and keep my utilities on for the next 60-90 days when I will finally close a deal which pays my whole year salary.

I'm happy to pay anyone back who can help short-term and also thankful for any donations that can keep my fur family together, safe and housed.

I have been surviving from grocery money from friends and colleagues and I'm out of every option, nobody can give me anymore money for food or to keep my lights on, my WIFI is being shut off again in two days and I don't have the money to keep it on.

As many of you are aware, I am an Executive Producer and I put together film financing and distribution for independent films. I prior to that I ran a P&A financing company for almost a decade which cofinanced theatrical releases and shut down one year into Covid. I barely survived that change and would have been okay if there hadn't been the industry shut down for the strike.

I was promised a SAG Interim Agreement but it never came through....the only deals to close after the strike ended the second week of November were studio projects and then the industry shut down for 4 weeks for the holidays.

I have a very strong slate and I'm very close to closing two film deals with Sony or one of my other buyers, however, it's very hard to lock down the timing on closing film deals... I need to lock a star before the buyer can officially review internally for purchase and the industry is very busy with sales markets and awards season which slows down the process even more.

I wouldn't ask for help paying my bills and finding a new place to live unless I have exhausted EVERY Possibility and had no other options because I'm a very strong and proud person who has always landed on my feet and kept moving up the ladder instead of giving up and leaving the industry.

I sent this letter to my landlord's wife and his attorney the night before our court case and they had no interest in helping me, they just want to kick me out to cover up that they stole my $17,000 deposit and would rather move in a new tenant and make it look like I am the problem, kick me out, make me homeless.

Here's the letter:

I'm sorry to reach out to you directly but I need to speak with you about your husbands criminal behavior in dealing with my eviction.

He stole my deposit and is trying to cover it up by stealing the house I have worked so hard to make into a home with my puppy, dog sadie, out two kitties who have loved and taken great care of your beautiful property since I moved in in September 2022.

I asked Sorin to reduce my large two month deposit before signing a new rental agreement for a second year and he told me that he spent the entire amount on the new home he bought in the area after he finished remodeling this one and he told me the only way for me to reduce it is if I agree to move out of your property so a new renter can put it up and he will assign it to me.

Obviously, that offer from Sorin was completely unacceptable because I have two dogs and two cats and bad credit because my Theatrical Distribution business shuttered the second year of Covid and I had to settle out my debts. Also, I have put an incredible amount of time and money into making your house a home and watering the beautiful trees in the back of the property, keeping the grass and property clean and well maintained. As you may or may not know I co-financed the property wall along the back fence, installed new screens leading to the back patio from the living room because the old roll-away screens were broken and needed replacing. I installed a beautiful new screen door on the front porch as well so I could open the door and enjoy the breeze without being overwhelmed by mosquitos and flies, etc.

I sold my car to get through the SAG strike that shut down my industry for most of last year and the industry is back now but moving slowly to get back up and running.

I warned Sorin that I would need to use my deposit to pay November and December because the strike didn't end until mid Nov. and then the industry shut down two weeks into Dec.

Sorin told me he moved some things around to let me us the deposit for Nov and then later told me he lied and he paid it directly but couldn't afford to pay any more months besides December because your family would lose the house if a paying renter didn't move in by the end of January.

He told me he would cover my rent through the end of the year and that I would be on my own for paying by end of January but he filed a 3 day pay or quit Unlawful Detainer against me December 4th after telling me he would cover me through the end of the year.

I went from thinking he was a great person to worrying about my family's safety staying her with a liar and thief trying to steal my house and make me homeless at the same time.

I'm almost 50 years old and I am the bread winner in my life- I forcibly removed my mom from my father's abusive household in 07 and put her in a nursing home where she was until her death 8 years ago. My father died two years ago and it was very hard but I was able to get my brother in law to help me negotiate a buy-out of his property of $300,000 which is what I used to pay all my over due debts and move into your home and prepay the entire first year plus two months deposit plus the 1,000 pet deposit.

My sister is toxic and abusive which is why my niece, Nicole Gates, asked to move in with me when she graduated UCSB for a safe home to live in. She has now moved out because of what your husband has been putting me through.

My final court date is tomorrow at 1pm and I'm told I'm going to lose and be kicked out of my house unless Sorin withdraws the complaint against me... he can make a deal with me but he doesn't want to- I will be able to close a deal and pay for everything and I just need another 60 days to close and fund a deal.

I can't move anywhere else, everyone in my business is being evicted right now and are in much worse positions than I ever was. They don't have spare rooms or back houses for me to live in and if they do, they can only take me in and there's nobody who can take my animals for even a short time so I will have to take them to Animal Control to be put to sleep or I have to be homeless with them to access the programs that are available and do not work for the homeless already on the street... there are no people to take me in and no programs to help me out but I will close a deal on my own and pay for everything if you please ask Sorin to have mercy on me and give me more time.
