Please Help Me Lay my Mom to Rest in Her Homeland

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I stand before you today, sharing a story of an enduring spirit tested by the harsh realities of life. It's about my parents, the two strongest people I know, who, despite being faced with relentless adversities, have clung onto hope and courage.

Their hardship began when a devastating apartment fire burned down their home and took my mother’s soap business with it. The flames didn't just engulf their possessions; they destroyed a dream my mother was nurturing, forcing them to create a home in a modest (and outdated RV), only for my mother to be diagnosed with Colon Cancer shortly after.

Since her diagnosis, my father quit his job to give her around the clock care care and their world condensed to the confines of the worn-out RV. This RV, while in much need of some TLC and upgrades, sheltered them from the elements and gave my mother just enough space to battle her disease.

Their sanctuary, however, faced a brutal hit-and-run incident recently, leaving their home in shambles. The impact decimated their back bumper which housed their power source & their only lifeline providing them with warmth and energy. After calling the authorities, their fears were confirmed. Due to the lack of witnesses and surveillance footage, there was no way to get them any help.

As their son, I’ve spent the last decade using every spare dollar I have to make sure they have shelter, food, water and access to care. Unfortunately, we reached a point where I was forced to accept that I could not bear the financial burden of maintaining their lives on my own.

All of this culminating to my mom’s cancer taking a turn for the worse & due to her treatment of chemotherapy, she resulted in being severely immunocompromised which led to her eventually getting multiple blood infections and COVID. After a fierce fight her enduring & suffering came to an end. And she is now finally free.

Now that she is free, it is time to send her home to El Salvador so that she can finally rest with family but we can’t do it alone after pouring everything we have into her treatment and shelter.

That's why I'm here, pouring my heart out to you, asking for your assistance. Now, more than ever, we need your help.

If you're in a position to donate, no matter how small, please consider doing so. Every penny counts.

I cannot stress enough the urgency of this situation. My mother’s peace hinges on your generosity. For transparency, I've initiated this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $15,000. The funds raised here will be used to send my parents home so that my mom can rest and help keep us afloat while we grieve this immense loss.

If financial support is beyond your means, we implore you to share this campaign far & wide.

Let's come together as a community and show my parents that hope and kindness still exist, that even in the darkest of times and after the greatest of losses, people truly care. It is with your support that we will make it possible for my mom to finally rest peacefully in her homeland surrounded by her friends and family.

I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness, your empathy, and your support. As a heartbroken son, it has taken everything in me to put my heart and soul out there to ask for help. We truly can’t do this without you.

With deepest & humble gratitude,
-Mar
