Please Help Me Help Maxcat!

Hello everyone, my name is Kathleen Keenan and I am a proud mother of my fur baby, Max. We have been together for five wonderful years (he came to me from a family in crisis) and has brought such joy, happiness, and purpose to my life. Forgive any typos, my hand is shaking as I write, as I never imagined needing to ask for help but here is our situation.

Over the past few days, I’d noticed Max sleeping more and eating less, but thought it might be just a general lethargy. But earlier, when I checked on him, all of a sudden, I saw a swelling the size of a plum on the right side of his mouth, along with strings of saliva tinged with blood. In a panic, I called our veterinarian, who thankfully was able to take him right away, and he is now in their hospital, scheduled for surgery tomorrow. It may be an abscess, it may be a tumor, all they know is that it’s serious. Two doctors offered to give up their own lunch hours, to work together, ensuring he is taken care of as soon as possible.

His pain and suffering breaks my heart but I am willing to do anything for him. Max is my family, in every sense of the word, we have no one else. And this comes as I also have no job...I was just laid off from my position as a teaching assistant after sixteen years with the school district...the position was eliminated and there was no longer as place for me. Therefore, I am reaching out to the goodness of your hearts, to ask for help in finding sweet Maxcat’s expenses. Words cannot tell you how grateful I would be; even one dollar would help.

The total cost as quoted quoted to me was $1844.00. I will try to manage half of that, on a payment plan, so setting the goal here for the remaining amount. At the moment, my bank account is down to mere pennies; again, anything would help, especially your prayers and kind thoughts.
