Irene was in respiratory distress when I came home from errands on December 15, so I took her to the emergency vet. It turned out she had pleural effusion from congestive heart failure and had to stay in an oxygen cage until the next night with intravenous Lasix. As of now, she appears to be recovered from the acute breathing problem that landed her in the hospital, but she will need bloodwork, more xrays, an echocardiogram and medications for the rest of her life, which I hope will be a few more years. She is
16 years old and has been with me for 15 years.
The bill at the emergency clinic was $1400. My rent just went up by over $100 month. I'm on a fixed income, my car needs brake pads and rotors, and I just lost a dental filling. With 2 other senior cats, I'm hoping to cover as much of her emergency bill as possible with this fundraiser. Thank you!! ❤ Visit Irene and her sisfurs at https://www.instagram.com/bearofroses/
