I need your help! I'm trying to get to DC in a few days! To make a long story short, last night I was honored to receive a paid scholarship to the KR Planner Collective in Washington, DC. It was a last minute entry and the event itself is literally in days! *(YES! Next Tuesday, 5/1 - 5/2!) As excited as I am to attend this event on scholarship, it covers the cost of the event but the travel and stay are not included. Last minute airfare is not cheap at all- especially since I'm flying across the US. I will need to obtain the funds by Sunday 4/29/18 evening to try to book my accommodations in time.
I was initially going to try to attend the collective in Dallas (from Houston) earlier this year but the event was postponed with no knowledge of when it would be rescheduled after I called several times...
Receiving the scholarship last night was an unexpected honor only after Hurricane Harvey, my business has been much slower than previous years and this affected me greatly. This two-day intensive, continued education course would allow me to gain knowledge on how to continue to grow my business to the level that I've always strived for. Events are my passion and by attending I will learn from a professional who has done recent events for Oprah Winfrey and the wedding of Gucci Mane and Keycia Ka'oir shown on BET! I will get insider's perspective on how to service next level events, and get one-on-one instruction on real-life examples of planning techniques for weddings and events at all levels and SO MUCH MORE!
Anyone who knows me well, knows I do 'not' ask for hand-outs and have a time receiving them. A good industry friend suggested I take this route to raise the money...after thinking about it, I took their advice, knowing how very important this class is to me and my future growth as a business owner.
As a small business owner and a newly single mom of one cute little 6 year old, I would like to ask a favor. IF you have ever believed in my business and what I do, would you be so kind to donate something to help me get there? If it weren't a last minute opportunity, I would be able to fund this without asking for assistance.
