Hey there , my name is Gemma, and I am currently 38 weeks pregnant. From the beginning of this pregnancy, I wanted to hire a midwife to support me in labor, but unfortunately, finances did not allow that. I do not want to go to the hospital at all, as I believe it contradicts my faith and beliefs to do so. I also had a very traumatic experience with birth in the hospital, and those are just two of many reasons I absolutely want to stay away from the medical system.

I finally got myself pumped up to do a free birth with a doula present, but as the time is approaching, I know I would really benefit from that extra support in labor. Thankfully, I have found a midwife that is willing to work with me at such short notice, and amazingly, she gave us a 50% discount. However, our financial situation is currently strained, and covering that at such short notice does not look likely. I really want to be able to pay for this midwife, and I'm asking please if anyone is able to help at all, I will be eternally grateful. she would like half paid before baby comes and at 38 weeks that makes it pretty tight on time, so we need $1500 before baby and $1500 after... we currently only have $200 to pay her and the next time we can pay her I'll be over 39 weeks...

In my last labor with our daughter, I was struggling before my doula and midwife arrived, and for me, I believe labor is more mental. Just having a midwife present will bring me so much peace as we bring our new baby into this world.
