Please help me get my parents out of Ukraine

I can’t express how grateful I am for everyone’s incredible support when I needed it the most. In only one day your generosity enabled me to raise funds that far exceeded my target, which is unbelievable.

Thank you so much for contributing to raise an amazing amount of money to support my family as they leave the Ukraine and try to rebuild their lives somewhere new. I never imagined I would be able to support them in this way but together you have made this possible.

My name is Valeriya and I was born and raised in Ukraine. I moved to the UK in 2012 and am now a teaching assistant in a school in London. While I am safe in the UK, my parents, Aunt, Uncle and other family members are currently in Ukraine and we are all terrified for their safety.

 

They live in Dnipro and are to start traveling closer to the Polish border with the hope that they will be able to cross safely to Poland.

 

They no longer have any income as my parents' business cannot operate any more due to the crisis and they have no access to money with banks and cash machines now closed. Supplies are fast running out and they don’t have the resources or money to get to Poland and find somewhere to live, while we work out a longer term plan for their future.

 

I am trying to raise £5,000 for transport/petrol to Poland and three months rent for accommodation when they arrive. We are proud, hardworking people but I am desperate and afraid for their lives, which is why I am appealing for your kind support in our darkest hour of need.

 

I would be truly grateful of any support you, or others you know, may be able to offer.

 

My family means the world to me and I need to know they are safe.
