Hi, my name is Tim. I’m attempting to raise this GoFundMe for my dog Kai. I’ve had him since he was about a month old. He’s now ten months old. He’s a beautiful Husky and Labrador mix.

For the past month or so, he’s been suffering from what I believed to be luxating patella on his back right knee. I took him to the vet recently, and they confirmed he does have luxating patella, but he’s also torn his ACL. The veterinarian told me I should get him surgery within the next 3-4 months, desirably, but not to exceed 8 months. The cost can be anywhere between $4700-$6000. As a full-time college student working part-time, I don’t make enough to cover it. I’ve been doing what I can to ease his discomfort while I save up.

Today (6/28/25), his left knee has begun luxating as well, pretty much inhibiting him from being able to walk normally. I truly love this dog and can no longer bear to see him suffer. He’s been my best friend for the last 10 months. He’s so expressive, kind, funny, and most of all, a good boy. I’m reaching out to the world on behalf of him because I know for a fact if our roles were reversed, he’d do the same for me. Anything is a blessing and will help get Kai running alongside me again.
