Hey everyone! I’m 24, and I’m living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome — a connective tissue disorder that makes my joints hypermobile, unstable, and super prone to injury. It’s kind of like my body skipped the structural integrity part of the blueprint. I’m also diagnosed with several other conditions that greatly impact my mobility, which have worsened as I’ve gotten older.
Because of EDS, walking can be painful and unpredictable. My knees, hips, and ankles dislocate easily, and some days, just getting from my bed to the bathroom feels like a marathon. After doing a lot of research, I’ve realized that forearm crutches could make a massive difference in my daily life — offering support, stability, and way less pain.
Here’s the catch: the good ones (the ones that won’t wreck my wrists or shoulders after a week) are pricey and are often not covered by insurance. I’m hoping to raise enough to get a pair of ergonomic, lightweight crutches that are actually designed for long-term use — not the clunky, hospital-issued ones that hurt more than they help.
Your support would help cover:
• A pair of high-quality forearm crutches
• Shipping + anything leftover will go toward future mobility needs
If you can chip in, share this with a friend, or just send some love — it means the world. Seriously. Every bit helps me get closer to a less painful, more independent life.
