Please help me get a suitable wheelchair

Hi! I’m Donna. I suffer with multiple health conditions including fibromyalgia- this means I suffer with pain and fatigue as well as limited mobility and a host of other symptoms on a daily basis. I am registered as disabled and too unwell to work currently.
I am trying to raise money to buy a new powerchair that is foldable and light weight , it will also be more supportive on my joints long term.
Unfortunately I am not in a position to purchase such an expensive mobility aid by myself and so I’m practicing what I preach and asking (albeit reluctantly) for help. Those of you that know me personally know that I wouldn’t be doing this if I had another way. But this is the only option I have to maintain my safety and my freedom.
I am not eligible for help from the NHS as I am an ambulatory wheelchair user (meaning I can walk) and do not require a wheelchair inside my house.
I am currently being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.
This has had a serious impact upon my health, wellbeing and mobility and I am completely reliant upon my wheelchair out of the house due to increased pain and risk of falls and injury. This combined with my pre existing conditions is making life and simple things that most take for granted almost impossible.
I’ve set up this gofundme page because my current wheelchair is no longer fit for my needs and causes me pain to use it for prolonged periods of time as it does not offer enough support.
I feel like I’m losing my independence once again as I’m not able to use my chair alone and its heavy and bulky I need another person to assist me when using public transport, taxis etc. I have no family around me and a limited support network in the way of friends.
Being so unwell , means that I have a lot of appointments in my future and having a more suitable chair will make them more accessible and less of an ordeal. It also means , that I will feel like less of a burden to my loved ones and allow me to regain some of my identity instead of feeling like a walking diagnosis. Having multiple chronic illnesses is isolating and has completely changed my life. My wheelchair isn’t just a mobility aid , but a lifeline and has had a hugely positive impact on my mental health.
The thought of being trapped in my house again is both a very real and terrifying prospect, especially with winter just around the corner and my health being so poor.
My fundraising target is for the price of a brand new chair(vat exempt) if anything is raised over that it will be donated to whizzkids a charity that provides wheelchairs and mobility aids to children.
I would also like to pay it forward and donate my current powerchair to either a charity/organisation or someone who would benefit the way that I have from having one , but can not afford one. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I might go about this , please leave me a message on the page.
