please help me fund tash’s operation.

hi everyone!

my name is caprice and i’m the owner of this beautiful 8 month old tortoise shell, tash!

on thursday 11th april late evening tash was playing on her ceiling to floor cat scratcher as she usually does.

she was happily playing with my other kitten when unexpectedly tash fell off the highest platform of the cat scratcher which is 6-7ft from the floor.

i heard a thud, i ran to tash and she was screaming/meowing in pain.

she tried walking away, she couldn’t she was dragging her back legs behind her.

that’s when i rushed tash to the out of hours emergency vets ‘mi night vet’ after the vet examined tash, i was told that the vet couldn’t feel no broken bones, dislocations or fractures.

and the vet told me that “it’s just badly bruised” however throughout the night tash wasn’t herself.

she wouldn’t eat, drink or urinate/pass faeces. tash was just laid on the floor on my dressing down limp and she didn’t want to move.

i rung our regular vets in the morning and we rushed tash back to the vets “pet doctors”….they examined her again.

and the vet told us that tash has definitely got some pain in her right hind leg, that he suggested we got her x-rayed.

which is lucky we did!, we got an update from the vet and he had told us that tash has fractured her hip & she’ll need an operation to fix it however we are waiting to hear back from a specialist vet to see what surgery would be best for her.

tash will possibly have to have metal wire inserted to try to heal the hip bone i’ve been quoted £3,000 to £4,000 for that operation, however if that fails amputation may be the only solution.

unfortunately i didn’t think to get her insured as she’ll always be an indoor cat and i didn’t think any harm would come to her but sadly this has happened.

as this has happened unexpectedly i haven’t got anywhere near enough funds to cover the cost of tash’s treatment, the total of her treatment so far is £839 that’s not including the surgery she needs.

if anyone could donate to help the cost towards tash’s treatment it would be much appreciated! anything will help even if it’s just £1, thankyou for reading!

UPDATE 14/04/24

i’m absolutely devastated but if i cannot afford the vet treatment & surgery the vets have told me the only option/cheapest option would be to send her over the rainbow bridge.

tash is only 8 months and i absolutely adore her, i am not allowing that to happen.

so please if you can donate, please do!, anything with help save tash!
