Please Help Me Find Trouble, My Cat Best Friend.

Donation protected

My name is gryphon. I’m asking for your help to find Trouble, my cherished companion, who escaped just 10 days after being rehomed. Trouble is lost in an unfamiliar area, 26 kilometres from the only community she has ever known.

Caring for Trouble is a great privilege. Her disappearance has turned my world upside down. I am unwavering in my search, but I can’t do this alone.

Will you help bring Trouble home?

How You Can Help

I want to raise $4,200 to:
• Hire a pet detective with expertise to maximize the search for Trouble
• Print and distribute more posters to the broader community, veterinary clinics, and shelters
• Cover travel expenses to and from the search area
• Pay for Facebook and Instagram ads to broaden the search
• Prepare for any veterinary care Trouble when she is home.

Your support and generosity will have a powerful impact on finding Trouble and ensuring she has the future she deserves.

Trouble’s Story

A few dedicated neighbours and I care for local community cats. Trouble is independent and a little spicy, but she shows her affectionate side with me. Our bond has strengthened and become more special over the past two years.

We have faced so much together. In the last year, Trouble survived her near-fatal battle with pyometra (a uterine infection caught just in time). More recently, she had dental surgery to free her from pain. I visited Trouble at the vet most days to provide her with much-needed support as she recovered.

When the safety of our cats was threatened by abuse, we collectively made the heartbreaking decision to rehome them for their protection.

A mutual friend assisted with Trouble’s adoption. They assured me the adopter had the experience and resources to care for a cat with her background. When I met them, I believed this was true. I trusted they would provide the secure, loving environment Trouble deserved.

But just days later, Trouble escaped through a window left ajar. She was in an unfamiliar area, disoriented and vulnerable.

Challenges Finding Trouble

Unfortunately, my friend notified me 53 hours after Trouble went missing, and I was not able to search for her in the most critical 48 hours after her disappearance.

I travel multiple times a week to search for Trouble, posting flyers, speaking with neighbours, and contacting vets, shelters, and animal welfare groups.

Without access to a car, it is an exhausting effort. Searching at night—when she’s most likely to wander—is especially difficult. The environment is rife with dangers for free-roaming cats, adding urgency to the search.

Every day that Trouble is lost, the risk to her survival grows.

Why I Need Your Help

Trouble isn’t just a cat—she’s my best friend. She provides comfort and unconditional love.

My invisible disability places many restrictions on my life. Looking after the cats gives me purpose, and caring for Trouble is extremely rewarding.

Giving Trouble up for adoption is the hardest decision I’ve ever made. I sincerely believe it was the right choice for her safety and happiness. Losing her has been devastating emotionally, physically and financially. I receive a part-pension and I’m running out of resources to find her.

Please, I need your help to bring her back, so I can give her the home and life she deserves.

Every Donation Makes a Difference

Your support will enable the search for Trouble to continue. Even a $20 donation can help.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign can make a world of difference.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and help bringing Trouble home.
