My name is Gabriela Palacio, a first generation college student and high school graduate. I am the daughter of a hardworking single mother of three.

Life has never been “easy” for me but I can say I’m blessed for the lessons life has taught me and most importantly the family I have.

College is very expensive but it is something I am currently doing. I am majoring in nursing and minoring in psychology. Nursing is a gateway for me to help and take care of others, psychology will help me with patients in understanding them and their needs.

I am currently in debt worth thousands, which is why I am juggling a job, 17 credit hours and clubs as a freshman. I do not make enough money to enroll in a payment system for my next semester of school and I do not have financial help from anyone. Fafsa is a huge help but it is unfortunately not enough for me at the moment.

My institution is relatively “cheaper” than most other schools, however, it is still not affordable for me.

Receiving any form of help would be a blessing and a huge weight off of my shoulders. I understand that money is not “gifted”, it is a result of hard work and effort exerted from you.
