Hello, my name is Dave and I'm raising money to get my dog out of the pound. I lost both my parents a month apart (Dad in December and Mom in January) and to say i was devastated would be the understatement of the century. So when I seen that my nephew was helping his friend re-home a dog, I thought maybe a something furry would help fill the enormous void that my parents left when they passed. I was pretty depressed and desperate. So I took Zeus in. He's a big goofy, block headed Rottweiler that stole my heart immediately. On Thankgiving, I went to my sister's house to eat and when I came back Zeus had pulled a Houdini and had escaped. After frantically searching high and low I couldn't find him and that old familiar sense of dread and impending doom and loss started to creep up my spine again. Then, thank God, my sister located him at the local animal shelter. So I contact them and they tell me they're adopting him out (????!!!) and that if I wanted him back I'd have to pay $120 plus $16.75 plus tax and fees and adopt my own dog before someone else does and.....I don't have all that. I don't even have electricity. I've been running a generator while I fix up my Dad's house (which I owe back taxes on). Look I hate asking anyone for anything and I'm always the one giving to causes. I don't have much experience BEING the cause. Anything I can get helps. I'm also selling my stamp collection and a few other things...well anything I can honestly to get my dude back.
