In the memory of my beloved Father
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Stephane Etienne, and my Father, Philome Herve Etienne, passed away on Father’s Day in Haiti. That morning was the most horrible day of my life because I never imagined losing my Father, even though I knew he was sick. My Dad flew to Haiti three weeks ago to bury his Dad, my grandfather, who passed away. Not even one week later, my Dad also passed away.
Now, my family and I are trying to get his body back to the United States because he fought his whole life to become a U.S. Citizen, and my heart would break if I can’t bring my father back here. My siblings won’t be able to say goodbye to him. My father was a great man, and he had a hard life. Although I can’t tell you guys his whole story, I’m begging if anyone could help me bring my Father home.
I told my family to give me one week, and I’ll figure out how to get the funds to try and get his body back here. If I can’t, I’ll have to bury him in Haiti, his home country. But as a selfish daughter, I want him close so I can visit. Please, if you’re reading this and can’t donate, please share with others.
Update
I wanted to give an important update. I called the morgue in Haiti, and I was told that due to the current travel and cargo restrictions, it is not possible to bring my father's body back to the U.S. right now. This news has broken my heart even more, as I had hoped to lay him to rest here, where I could visit him and keep him close.
Because of this, we now have no choice but to bury my father in Haiti, his homeland. The funeral costs there are estimated to be between $7,000 and $10,000.
