For those of you who do not know me my name is Paula Segarra & my mission is to send LOLA to her final resting place; A place that she considered safe, …. a place that she called home …Hawaii.
Perla Gatchalian was an amazing woman that was loved by so many. Pearl was victim of a horrific homicide in her Mahopac, NY home. She was 75 years old & a beautiful woman that was known as LOLA. Lola was a very smart woman. She was a successful Accountant for many years. She loved to go to church & her senior center in her spare time. She took great pride in how she looked and in the way she presented herself. She had a tendency to make you laugh without even knowing how funny she actually was. She will be missed by all who knew her; Especially one of my closest friends Marinee Buffone, her beloved daughter, Frank Buffone, her loving son in law , and their 3 beautiful children Gianna, Amanda & Frankie who she absolutely adored.
Many Mahopac residents have reached out to me asking what they can do & how we can help. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I thought about sending food and a few different things, but then thought I can do that on my own. After visiting the family & speaking to Marinee it all became very clear. My friend, who is absolutely one of the most selfless people I know, was not concerned about herself or her pain. All she kept saying was “I need my mom to rest in peace.”
That one sentence haunted me at night… I kept hearing it over and over. Each time it sounded louder & more desperate. Feeling helpless, I kept praying and asking God to please help me to help them. He answered my prayer….
It is my personal mission to send the entire family to Hawaii, Lolas home, so she can finally be laid to rest with the love of her family surrounding her.
I am asking for your help. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is too small. If you are not in a position to donate you can help my sharing my post. Let’s come together & help this BEAUTIFUL family make the best of a horrible tragedy.
