Hi Friends—My name is Jojo. I am a new resident of the Village, after my original dad dumped me here to fend for myself.
I spent two very scary days running loose… I didn’t know anyone or where I was supposed to be, and I really missed my home. Fortunately, some very nice Sedona volunteers were able to catch me so I didn’t get hurt. They found me overnight housing with a very nice lady and then a wonderful foster home where I am currently living.
Right now, I am learning about my new world, and my new friends and foster family are learning about me. It seems like, with the right confident handler, I might be able to live with other doggies some day, maybe even cats… but these new people that love me are giving me time to show them what I need to feel safe, so I’ll keep you posted as I settle and figure it out.
One thing I absolutely need is vetting—including neutering. You see, my friends tell me that new shots and keeping me from creating more fur babies (in a world where there already aren’t nearly enough homes for all my furry friends) isn’t just good for the world, it is good for my emotional and physical health….
So this is why I am writing to you today. Ya see, I’m kinda a big guy… and my friends tell me that vetting and neutering is expensive, even for a small pup. But unfortunately ya’s see, I weigh at least 130lbs so this vetting I need… well, it’s going to be a LOT, well over $1300.
So I am hoping that maybe you all would be willing to help me and my friends get this vetting stuff done so I can be my healthiest me and neighbor! I know it’s a lot to ask… but PLEASE know that I am going to do my very best to be the very BESTEST boy and Village resident, especially once I am as healthy as I can be.
Anyway, thanks for caring about me. And I hope we can meet someday so I can thank you in person with snuggles, slobbery kisses and love.
With Furry Love for a Happy New Year—
Your new neighbor, Jojo
