Please Help Me Avoid Eviction at the End of this Month

Hi! Ebony here, asking for assistance in paying my rent. I work as a contract/temp worker here in NYC. I was unemployed for 3 months last year (happily working now), and fell behind on rent. I’m currently making way less than my previous job, but I am paying what I can towards the balance.

Although, my landlord has been lenient in allowing me to pay weekly towards the past due balance, I have until the end of the month to pay off what I owe ($3000). I only make $22 an hour (previously it was $29) and despite intense efforts of searching for a higher paying job, I have not been lucky in today’s job market.

I am very much aware that everyone is struggling right now, and funds are tight. But I’m sure that if this can reach as many people as possible, I can reach my goal.

I have applied for assistance through the city, but haven’t heard back from them for weeks now, despite following up with them repeatedly. I also don’t have any family that I can lean on for assistance. I’ve exhausted all of my options, and so I’m coming to strangers for help.

If you are able to, please donate towards my fundraiser so that I can stay in my apartment. It’s just me and my cat, and I have no where else to go.
