Hello, my name is Sholom Gordon. I am 12 years old, and I'm growing up on Shlichus in Tasmania.

Because I live in a far-off place with no local Jewish school, I go to an online school which is run out of Israel. Because of this, I have classmates all over the world, such as Cambodia and Taiwan. Unlike most children, I only see my classmates on the computer screen.

This year most of my classmates are having their Bar Mitzvahs. Unlike myself, most boys my age can go to all of their classmates' Bar Mitzvahs. For me to attend my classmate's Bar Mitzvah would mean an international flight for each. This would be highly impractical both in terms of the amount of time it will take and financially.

When I started Israeli online school three years ago, I knew it would be challenging to integrate into a class where all the learning is done in a foreign language. There was 1 boy who took it upon himself to help me out and help integrate me into the class. For this, I am very grateful.

Right after Chanukah my best friend from school will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in Nottingham, England. Though I cannot get to every one of my classmate's Bar Mitzvahs, getting to this would mean a lot.

The cost of getting to my friend's bar mitzvah is over AUD $7000, including a ticket for one of my parents to accompany me.

Please help me make this Goal so that I have this possibility.

In addition, my parents give me points for different things I do around the house, doing my homework on time and other extra learning. These points can be converted to gifts or activities; I have taken it upon myself to work hard to get as many points as I can, which I will then convert to money towards my ticket.
