Please Help Me Access the Pain Relief I Desperately Need
Donation protected
My name is Jamie, and as a real person whose life has been shattered by the ongoing shortage of extended-release morphine 15mg. I am a 49-year-old woman who has fought for every ounce of normalcy in my life, and now, because of this crisis, I am watching it slip away.
Twenty years ago, I was diagnosed with inoperable cancer on my brainstem and spinal cord. Doctors gave me six months to live. Against the odds, I survived—but the pain never left. I have degenerative disc disease, severe arthritis throughout my body, and nerve damage that feels like fire under my skin. Morphine ER 15mg was my lifeline. It didn’t make me high. It didn’t take my pain away completely. But it gave me just enough relief to keep working, to stay independent, and to live with dignity.
Now, because of this shortage, I am trapped in a nightmare. For four months, my local clinic hasn’t had my medication. I’ve begged my doctor to switch me to 30mg—the only dose available—but they’re too afraid. I’ve had to cut my pills in half, rationing what little I have left, and the pain is unbearable. My heart races, my blood pressure spikes, and I lie awake at night crying.
I started a GoFundMe to move to Mexico because I can’t get the medicine I need here.
I’ve fought hard to stay active for my family, and now I have a 4-year-old granddaughter who is my everything.
But now, I’m in a new fight and I’m running out of time.
My life-saving morphine medications are in critical shortage. When I do find them, they cost over $530 per fill — far more than I can afford. My clinic pharmacy hasn’t had them for 5 months.
I was a gymnast. I trained for the Olympics. I played basketball, danced ballet, and lived an active, healthy life. Now, I’m fighting just to get out of bed.
Without these medications, I won’t be able to keep working… or keep fighting.
We’re planning an urgent move to Ensanada, Mexico. My husband can transfer with Walmart. But we need help now.
We need $5,843 total to cover:
Passports – $300
U-Haul & relocation – $2,000
Housing support – $3,000
Medications while still in Montana – est. $543/month
Please, if you’re reading this, I need your help today.
Every donation and share could be what keeps me going.
I'm running out of time. My cancer cells are starting to rise because I don't have the medication I need.
