Please help Matt get back on his feet!

On Sunday March 7th, Matt had a bad accident that broke his right leg in many places. Both bones in the lower leg were fractured across and through the bones, and there were multiple breaks going vertically up into the knee joint, (plateau) and also down the length of the bone. The broken bones also went through muscle. He now has 50 staples from his thigh to his knee, and also on the inside below his knee, and down the calf. The trauma surgeon said it was the worst break of that kind, he has ever worked on. Matt came through that surgery well, and now has plates and screws and pins holding everything in place. Because of the severity of the breaks, He will be non weight bearing for 12 weeks, and then begin to have PT to try to regain the function of his leg.
Matt had moved to Longmont Colorado, to begin a great job doing what he loves; landscaping and building ponds, for Colorado Pond Pros. He had been working a few short weeks, when this accident happened. He is now home in his a small studio apartment, that is on the first floor thankfully; which happens to be perfect for his healing and recovery. However, there is no short term disability available from his job, and he cannot work, due to the injuries he sustained. So now, he has no way to pay for this apartment going forward. He doesn't yet have medical insurance to pay his medical bills from the hospital, as well as the Physical therapy he will need to recover the use of his leg. He also needs to pay for grocery delivery, rides to the doctors, medical home care visits, and his utilities. We were blessed to have found most of the medical equipment, on loan from local Moose and Elk lodges. I am here (Patti/Mom) to help as long as I can, but eventually will need to get home because of my obligations.
His good friend Logan is caring for his dog Pete, to train him to be a therapy dog for Matt. Right now, just getting out of bed by himself is a monumental task, but Matt is determined to overcome all the obstacles ahead. He has a great attitude, and is very hopeful to overcome each day as it presents it's own challenges. He is making daily goals like getting out of bed by himself with his walker, and trying to get to the bathroom without help. Next is sitting up for a few minutes in the wheelchair, with his leg lifted and supported. Next week, it might be getting into the shower with help. No one knows how hard this is, until it happens to them.
We are looking into medical and financial help from government resources, and the state of Colorado; but as you all know, that is a process and not always granted. Matt needs our support now more than ever, and any small donation you can spare to help him recover, would be immensely appreciated. Please leave comments for Matt to read. He will be so encouraged to hear from you!! Thank you all much!
