Please help Shane & Mary

Hi, My name is Shannon.

I am Shane and Mary’s Niece. I am hoping to raise some money to help them both during this very tragic time of their lives. My Uncle Shane was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. The doctors have started him on a very invasive Chemotherapy treatment hoping to shrink the tumor enough to be able to surgically remove it. He will go through 9 rounds of this chemo and then undergo radiation.

He has already had his first round of this chemotherapy, which has caused him to have extreme pain and sores in his Mouth and throat. Keeping him from being able to drink the protein shakes and the prescribed daily amount of fluids he is supposed to have. He is now severely dehydrated causing his kidney functions to be low. Now having to drive to Binghamton daily for IV fluids to be administered.

On top of this terrible diagnosis Mary has also been pulled from work for a back injury requiring surgery. Which she is hoping to have repaired once Shane overcomes his illness. Mary and Shane are both very hard working devoted husband, wife, mom, dad and grandparents that need a little bit of help at this time.

I’m hoping we can all pull together to help them out during this time of need.

As Shane was forced to retire and Mary being taken out of work has lost her insurance as well. I feel they have a long road ahead of them with a lot of uncertainty and any little bit will help with gas for the travels back and forth to doctors appointments. I am truly hoping to ease a little of their stress so Shane is able to stay strong and focus on getting better!!
