Hi everyone,

I’m Kian, Marvin’s owner/dog dad! I’m starting this fundraiser for my 7-year-old dog, Marvin.

He is a rescue from Mexico and I’ve had him since he was 6 months old. He is my entire world and I’d do anything for him! I will share details below.

Many of you may know him as @marvin_thechipin on Instagram. He is a very sweet, intelligent, quirky dude, and you can follow along on there or reach out with any questions regarding this fundraiser

Unfortunately, right now he is facing a few issues, especially severe dental pain. As you can see he has an underbite. Over the last few years, his teeth have started to space out and get very loose. Despite brushing them and providing an excellent diet and care, his bottom incisors have become completely loose and painful. Three of those underbite incisors have turned very yellow because they are basically dying teeth, and his roots are exposed and grey around those specific teeth on top of that He has been displaying multiple signs of oral issues including the chattering jaw/teeth from the discomfort and pain. He needs a full dental work up done, including the extractions from the 3 bottom incisors and 1 very loose upper incisor

He also has a soft, moveable lump on the left side of his chest near his armpit that continues to grow which requires surgical removal and a biopsy on it to make sure it isn't anything concerning.

Because he will already be put under anesthesia for his oral surgery and lump removal, our vet & the neurologist/specialists we’ve seen at Canada west have asked / highly encouraged for critical

X-rays of his spine and hips. For over 4 years now he’s been doing rehab therapy as he’s

dealing with ongoing chronic spinal pain, especially in his lower lumbar and hips.

This causes an abnormal hind gait known as "scissoring" and right-hind skipping so he also has pain in that leg/ knee . Prior to all this, he also had luxating patella which got better, but the rest of this mystery issue never resolved. Marvs rehab specialists at aqua paws also strongly believe these radiograph diagnostics are essential in hopes of finding out exactly what is wrong (if anything shows) so we can manage his comfort and physical therapy better. Unfortunately managing his issues/symptoms and keeping his condition at bay is very costly. I’ve been trying to hold off on all this but his dental pain it’s self just keeps progressing so any help is extremely appreciated

Our goal of $5,500 is set to help cover the

high-end estimate we’ve been given and any other unexpected teeth extractions/costs

Since they will be doing full dental work up which means x-rays and cleaning, his whole underbite could potentially end up needing removal, so the estimate given can definitely end up being higher.

Every single dollar will of course go directly to Marvin's veterinary costs.
