My name is Marlon Calma and I never thought I would be on the receiving end of one of these requests. On March 30th of this year, I visited my doctor for an annual physical. What was supposed to be a quick visit to the clinic turned into a weeklong hospital stay. It was discovered that I was having failure on both kidneys and after getting a CT scan, a large tumor was found in my bladder. After a biopsy procedure, the tumor turned out to be cancerous. I have now been diagnosed with kidney failure and stage 2 bladder cancer and will need chemotherapy followed by major surgery. The surgery I require is called a radical cystectomy with an ileal conduit for urinary diversion. I am trying to raise funds to cover expenses not only for the chemotherapy and surgery but also for my hospitalization for the biopsy procedure prior to my diagnosis. Also, for my follow-up visits after the surgery as it will require me to live with an ostomy bag for the rest of my life. Any amount donated will help and of course, will be greatly appreciated.
