Please help Mark continue his appointments!

Mark has been fighting stage 4 lung cancer since December 2016, as well as COPD. His outlook has always been positive and he has never once complained. The cancer had metastasized to his kidney and brain. After many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and surgeries (he had to have one kidney removed), Beth Israels doctors and hospital staff had gotten the cancer in his lungs to a non active status. However, the radiation that was done on his brain left a large amount of scar tissue, which was inhibiting his ability to walk.

On December 1, 2021 he underwent a very painful brain surgery to remove the scar tissue, with intense physical therapy to follow. He has been going to PT 2x/wk as well as many PET Scan, MRI and oncologist appointments. At his most recent oncologogy appointment on January 13th, a new spot appeared on the PET scan in the upper right lobe of his lung, which needs to be biopsied.

These appointments are vital to Mark staying on top of his cancer and getting back his mobility, but on new years eve, the transmission on their car died and they have no transportation to get Mark to his much needed physical therapy and oncologist appointments. Mark and Chris have exhausted all avenues to purchase another car, all to no avail. They are looking for enough to purchase reliable transportation. They are not looking to purchase a brand new car, just a reliable used one. Right now they are borrowing cars from other people, but this is not always easy or feasible, as some weeks they may have as many as 5+ appointments.
