Please help Marissa, who's lost everything in a fire

Hello Everyone,

My name is Sarah and I have set up this gofundme to try and help in whatever way we can.

You may or may not have heard about a recent fire that broke out in a Dorval apartment building on Wednesday, Dec 11th.

Our hearts our filled with sadness as my best friend in the world Marissa Leon John, her partner Emmett and their two dogs Amy and Toast, lost EVERYTHING they owned in the fire from their furniture to their clothing to the entire kitchen contents and hardest of all, their photos, souvenirs, precious keepsakes handed down from grandparents and Xmas presents for their loved ones.

NOTHING was salvageable!

They are staying with us until they can begin to pick up the pieces, recover from the trauma, find a place to live and recuperate some of the necessities of life needed to move forward.

To give you a little background on the urgency of our appeal, Marissa has been working as a personal event chef, promoting herself and honing her skills for the past 6 years. She never quits! She puts her heart and soul into every event and every meal she creates. As a self-employed young woman, the loss is enormous considering that all her tools of the trade she had acquired over the years are also lost. Her home, her livelihood, her spirit.

And so, when there is nowhere else to turn, you reach out and you pray. We have started a GO-FUND-ME account to help with the recovery. Unfortunately, there is no insurance, and as you can see, this is a huge undertaking.

Any contribution you can make is more than appreciated and no amount is too little. We will aim for $10,000 which will be used wisely towards the basic items they will need to get back on their feet.
