Please Help Mariko Sensei
Donation protected
On Sept, 25, shortly after noon, Mariko was gardening in her yard. As she was descending the brick landscape steps, she tripped and fell eight feet to the concrete driveway. She shattered her right wrist, suffered a non-displaced fracture of her skull and right cheekbone, and was diagnosed with a concussion.
She was admitted to the hospital that afternoon, staying until the 29th. She was then transferred to Oregon Rehabilitation Center, where she stayed for an additional 4 days.
This accident has not only affected Mariko negatively, but also her family. It was a long week of not being able to see her and having minimal communication with her. She is home now but will continue to need medical care for up to the next 3-6 months until she is fully recuperated.
The emotional impact on the family has been difficult, but also the financial burden that the family will incur.
If you are interested in supporting the family, please consider contributing to the go-fund-me campaign to help cover the medical costs. Unfortunately this accident is bridging two medical years, since the medical year for teachers starts over in October.
All of your support is appreciated.
