My name is Alfred Alvarado. I’m a realtor in Silicon Valley San Jose, California for many years my colleagues and I have been going to a coffee shop restaurant. There’s a lady that works there her name is Maria. She’s going through A very hard time right now and I’m trying to raise money to help her and her family. Here’s the story!

Help Maria Get Back on Her Feet—Literally and Financially

For the past 15 years, our tight-knit group of local REALTORS has met at the same coffee shop bakery in Silicon Valley. And for all those years, one thing remained constant: Maria’s warm smile and kind heart greeting us as she served up our coffees and baked goods with care. Maria isn’t just a worker at the shop—she’s a beloved friend, a part of our lives, and truly the heart of that community space.
Now, Maria needs our help.
Maria, a California native and devoted mother of two children (plus two beloved furry family members), is facing a cascade of overwhelming hardships. As many know, life in Silicon Valley is expensive—especially on a restaurant worker's wage. But in June, things took a devastating turn for the worse.
First, the transmission in her only car—a 2014 Ford Focus Titanium—failed, leaving her with a $3,500 repair bill she simply couldn’t afford. With no vehicle, she began commuting to work by bus and walking several blocks each day, determined not to miss a shift.
Then tragedy struck again. While walking to work one morning, Maria was hit by a truck.
She doesn’t remember much of the accident, but thanks to the kindness of strangers, she was rushed to the hospital. She is currently under observation while doctors try to understand what is causing the extreme swelling and pain in her foot. As of now, she is on crutches, in constant discomfort, and uncertain when or if she will be able to return to work.
Meanwhile, life hasn’t stopped. The bills keep coming—rent ($1,440/month), utilities, insurance, food—and her two daughters are about to start school and need uniforms and supplies. And just last week, Maria’s mother had to be re-hospitalized for serious mental health concerns, adding emotional and financial weight to an already unbearable situation. Her husband, who suffers from multiple ailments, is unable to assist.
To say Maria is overwhelmed is an understatement.
That’s why we are asking for your help.
Our realtor group, along with other loyal customers who know and love Maria, have already come together and donated what we can. But it’s not enough. We are now setting a GoFundMe goal of $10,000 to:
Repair her car so she can regain independence Cover her rent and bills for the next 2–3 months
Help purchase school supplies and uniforms for her daughters
Give her time to heal and recover—without the fear of eviction or deeper financial devastation
Maria has given so much of herself to her work, her family, and her community. She’s one of those rare souls with a heart of gold who never complains and always puts others before herself. Today, we’re asking you to give back to her in her time of greatest need.
No amount is too small. Even $5 or $10 will go a long way toward getting Maria back on her feet—literally and figuratively.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.
Please share this with your network and help spread the word.

With gratitude,
Alfred Alvarado
On behalf of Maria's friends and community
