Please help Manuel get critical Cancer surgery

Dear friends, family, and kind people who are viewing this page, At the end of 2021, we received devastating news that my dad, Manuel, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon and liver cancer at the age of 50. As a close knit family, we were absolutely shocked and blindsided by this. Even though my dad continued to fight and had gone through multiple rounds of chemotherapy plus a number of major surgeries, the cancer unfortunately came back and metastasised again, to his liver and abdominal area.

My dad is one of the most unique people I know and makes friends wherever he goes!

He's a truly easy-going person who embraces the fun side of life and loves his family and his dogs dearly. We love him so much and want to give him the best chances of survival which is why we are trying our best to raise funds so that he can go through a potentially lifesaving surgery abroad to fully remove his tumours.

The Oncologists that had originally been treating my dad estimated that with the progression of his cancer informed us that his cancer was terminal, and that he only has 1-2 years left to live with chemotherapy and that there was nothing more they could do. Heartbroken by this news, we sought a second opinion, and we're glad we did, as the option for surgery at a leading Cancer clinic in Portugal was offered to him. He's already undergone one major surgery there in the last month and they removed as much of the tumours as possible, however some of the cancerous tumours still remain in his liver. At that point, he had already been through an intensive operation so they were not able to operate further on him at the time, which means that a another surgery will be needed soon to remove the remaining tumours.

There's a long road ahead physically, mentally, emotionally and financially as unfortunately due to the intensive treatments, he is having he is also unable to work, having been a carpenter for most of his life, his work is far too taxing on the body and he's physically unable to work whilst receiving treatment. It's been over 7 months since he's been able to return to work. As someone who's worked all his life providing for his family, this has also taken a massive toll on him.

Having to get treatment in Portugal has been very expensive, with dad not being able to work has really impacted on his finances has he cannot cover all the expenses to fund this treatment to save his life.

All donations will be going towards giving my dad the best chances at surviving his battle with cancer, going towards surgeries, treatment and travel costs relating to his medical care. Every penny is extremely valued and goes a long way.
