Hi My name is April,

I am the mum of Maisie- Jayne. Maisie is 17 months old and has reoccurring tonsillitis 10x confirmed since October.

We seen a private consultant who agreed she could have the surgery. This comes at a price of £2,000, we are reaching out for support to reach this goal.

This is not something we’ve chosen to do lightly, however we are at a lose end being her parents and watching her suffer every month.

Maisie has had to have 2 Nasal gastric tubes due to refusing to eat and drink because of tonsillitis, antibiotics every month, missing days off nursery and me missing days off work. It’s breaking our hearts, watching her suffer.

The Private Consultant has said they are covering up to 75% of her airway! We was looking at NHS however it’s 7 month wait just for appointment with consultant as confirmed by BCH Today! (21st may) and even longer for surgery!!

We had a call last week that she could have had it done if we had the funds, however she is beginning to be poorly again :(

We hate Watching her failure to thrive and constantly losing weight breaks us. She only weighs 9kg at the age of 17 months.

She wakes up every morning to her bed soaked and drowning in drool from the excessive enlargement, she chokes on simple foods.

Her sats are borderline. She’s suffering so much!
