Please help Luis Cáceres to fight ALS
Donation protected
My name is Luis Caceres; I am 59 years old, a father of 3 incredible children, and I am happily married to the love of my life. I am Venezuelan.
Today I ask for your help to continue my treatment against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis of the bulbar type (ALS), which was diagnosed in November 2021. A.L.S. is a disease of the brain's neurons; it affects the motor nerve cells; they wear out and stop sending impulses to the muscles. The condition is very little known, and there are not many studies about it.
Since my diagnosis, the deterioration in my body has been high. I have been losing some of my motor skills and strength, which has affected my quality of life. My legs no longer work as they used to, which makes it impossible for me to move without help. I have difficulty breathing and ingesting food usually, which is why I had to have a gastrotomy and tracheotomy to improve my quality of life.
Due to my health condition, I have had to be hospitalized several times in the clinic, which has raised the monetary expenses for my treatment. It is becoming increasingly difficult for my family to cover the payments derived from the E.L.A.
That is why I appeal to your goodwill to support me in my fight against ALS and help me to continue with my life without further complications with medical supplies, money for daily therapy expenses, and the service of health professionals.
Any help adds up, no matter the detail; many blessings to all.
