Please help our boy Lucas

Hello my name is Dan and my wife's name is Tori. It is with great sadness that we write this, as we aren't folks that ask for help especially from strangers. But were becoming desperate as our son Lucas is dying. We need as much help as we can get.

We'll start from the beginning; In 2002 at age 3, Lucas was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After alot of treatments he finally went into remission at age 6.

He was also diagnosed with Hemocromotosis, which is an iron overload, that began to do some significant damage to his liver. And at the age of 6 had already developed stage 2 cirrhosis of the liver.

He had to undergo approximately 400 blood transfusions, numerous spinal taps, and bone marrow biopsies. Then was diagnosed with myelodisplasia, another cancer at age 7. Which now led him to need a complete bone marrow transplant. This was done at Boston Childrens Hospital.

Over the years, Lucas' struggles never seem to end, at 21 he developed a malignant cancerous tumor on his salvatory gland. Which he had to have removed from his face.

At this present time our boy is 22 years old, he has nodules on his thyroid that the drs need to biopsy to check for cancer; yet again. But unfortunately are unable to do so because sadly his cirrhosis has now reached stage 4.

Our boy is dying and is desperately in need of a liver transplant. And unfortunately does not qualify for a liver from a living donor. To qualify for a liver from a living donor he would have to survive the regeneration of the liver which would take months. As sick as he is he would not have time.

So as you can see life has never been easy on Lucas, but Lucas is prepared to fight and of course we will be at his side fighting with him. We are absolutely devastated that this has happened to our boy.

My wife Tori has had to leave her job to care for our son, who at this time has to have someone accompany him to the drs weekly. The expenses are getting high with all our medical expenses, gas, parking, meals, and eventually will have to stay close to the hospital when he is admitted.
