Please Help Lorenzo Manderson Fight Lymphoma
Donation protected
Hi folks, for many months my dad- Bishop Lorenzo Manderson has been reluctant to disclose this on a broad scale. Initially he intended to keep this all close to the family and found himself feeling a notion to let people know and have reached a point where he feels ok to talk about it. He has cancer, Hodgkin Lymphoma specifically.
In May 2020 he was very active physically. He was working, pastoring a church and exercising daily. He started experiencing fatigue and problems using the restroom. The symptoms reached the point that he knew he needed to see the doctor. After a physical exam in early June, they thought he had hemorrhoids. Several tests and a colonoscopy later, they said he had a mass in his colon.
After waiting for referrals and appointments etc he underwent CT, biopsy and surgery to determine the treatment for the mass.
He will start chemotherapy infusions in the next coming weeks. He does not have insurance and with all of the treatments, tests and meds comes a lot of cost. This is all on top of the situation many people are in: having no option to work at the moment. Even if it was on the table, his physical state would prohibit him to perform any hard labor. Anyone that has undergone chemotherapy can likely attest to how debilitating it can be both mentally and physically.
Obviously there is a lot going on in the world and some much greater causes are in need of donations, but any amount that you’re able to contribute would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks to his wife and our family, and everyone that’s known about his condition and has checked in on him regularly. It has helped so much in keeping his morale up in an unprecedented time personally and in history. We are strong in our faith and believe in the healing power of prayer. While it is early on and Bishop Lorenzo Manderson has a long road to recovery. Please continue to keep him in your prayers!❤️
