Please Help! Logan the Terrier Needs Radiation!
Donation protected
My name is Cory and I am raising funds for my sweet dog, Logan. He had a rough start to his life and was found as a stray when he was 3 years old, he clearly had been living on the streets for a while. When I first saw him in the shelter his hair was matted and long and he was covered in dirt and pollen but was so happy. I took him home the day he became available. He’s been at my side ever since and is the kindest, smartest, bestest boy I’ve ever known. If you know Logan, you know this too. He’s my baby.
Last October Logan started to get a severe head tilt, which was throwing off his equilibrium. The vet said it was an inner ear infection and put him on antibiotics and the tilt went away. A few months later, Logan’s tilt was back, followed by a prolapsed third eye-lid blocking much of his vision in his right eye. He also seemed to be in a great deal of pain, so I rushed him to the vet. They put him back on antibiotics but after a month the issues did not get better.
The next step was to take Logan to a Neurologist to get an MRI. The MRI revealed a mass under his brainstem that is causing compression of the normal tissues and obstructing the normal flow of spinal fluid. The mass is known as Meningioma and it is cancerous. Unfortunately surgery is not an option due to the location of the mass. The only real option is Radiation treatments which are known to be incredibly successful against these types of tumors, both extending Logan’s life and increasing the quality of it.
However, we have already spent around $8k just to get to this point. The oncologist suggest an aggressive radiation plan known as SRT Radiation but between the prep for the treatment such as a CT scans, and the treatment itself, we are looking at a $14,492 bill to keep my baby around.
We are not looking to get funded for the total, only the amount we really need to make this happen. Any help at all will be incredibly appreciated. Thank you and sending all our love.
