Hello, my name is Dana Bravata with Caledonia Community Outreach Program. I am raising money for my nephew Al and Kendra Jousma, the owners and operators of Ken's Auto Repair. A few months back, Al came into work to find a busted well that flooded the entire shop. After calling their insurance company, they were informed that nothing was covered! After sinking a ton of money into the removal of water, the township of Caledonia announced that they could not get a new well drilled in the location it currently is and will have to be moved to the other side of the property.
After drilling a brand new well further back on the property and running pipes from the older locations to the new place, they hit another snag. The township returned and said they couldn't use a well at all and would have to pay 25,000$ to hook to city water which the previous owner opted out of. Furthermore, they were prohibited from doing business until the water was fixed. After days of phone calls, letters, and meetings, the township agreed to allow them to hook up the water from the well, but if they failed a single inspection, they would have to switch to city water. After months of no work, they are now up and running again but went through all their savings, Christmas money and any extra they had.
A litter more about the owners! Al and Kendra Jousma have worked tirelessly to improve Ken's Auto Repairs' reputation, repair time, and service. Al works countless hours to finish cars on time without any other mechanics. He is a dedicated father and does his best to help the community by providing honest opinions and great service. Al often cuts into his profits to help those having a hard time and always lets a customer know if the service would be done with another mechanic if the work cannot completed. Kendra Jousma answers all the phone calls, books appointments, and helps Al with anything he may need while working a second job. All the while being full-time parents!
Please consider donating to this cause to help a local business stay in business. To help a hard-working couple who grew up in Caledonia, provide Christmas for their children and bring down their stress levels! We all need a little help sometimes, and this family really could use a break!
