Please Help Little Olivia Get Her Cafe Back!

Hi! My name is Mary and I am raising funds for my daughter, Olivia.

Olivia is a super extroverted and driven young lady. From 4.5 years old, she started her own YouTube channel, modeled, and acted. I invested all the money Olivia made into her account. Then 7, she opened up her own business with her own money. It was a business manufacturing cookie mixes we developed with each other through the years.

The business was thriving, and she was featured on CNN, Business Insider, Buzzfeed, and so much more! Then she decided to convert our front showroom area into a cafe and bakery. It was a hit! She was featured on TikTok and all over social media.

Unfortunately, at the end of January this year, a new landlord took over the business park of her previous location. He used our inadequate knowledge of contracts and leases to drastically raise her rent beyond what a little bakery off the beaten path could make. He wanted a large sum of money for renovations on top of raising her rent by $1500/month. She had no choice but to say bye, after all the hard work of making the place the cutest thing ever.

After months of depression for myself and my little one, we secured another place. It was my friend's mother's shop. They offered us the site, and we made our initial deposit in April. Our planned grand opening date was July 1st, so Olivia and I had set out and purchased more equipment and ingredients, registered the official documents, and were fully prepared to open. Unfortunately, nine days before July 1st, the owner decided to cancel. We do not understand why, but they have recently told us it was a miscommunication. This hindered her chance of getting another place.

Since she does not have the complete original deposit back and has already spent most of her money on equipment, licenses, registration, certs, and the initial dry ingredients, she has zero liquidity to find another place. Additionally, most brokers have ghosted us or have been super rude to her, so finding another place seemed impossible.

However, I decided to post in a few local communities and finally found some leads on possible locations. I am contributing whatever I have left as a stay-at-home mom and hope to raise as much as I can for her. We need to show the landlord we have some initial operating funds and be able to pay our first month, last month, and security deposit.

We are hoping to end up at about $20,000 in cash, of which half would be for the initial deposit and first and last month. The rest would be for Olivia's initial (perishable) ingredients, operating costs, electricity deposits, business insurance, etc. And any additional funds would be significant to help renovate or decorate and have some emergency funds.

I hope to crowdfund at least half of it and sell my personal belongings to get the rest, but any more than this would be fantastic, and I would be forever grateful for helping my daughter save her dream.

It is her passion, and I do not want to see her lose it all.

With love,

Mary and Olivia
