PLEASE HELP LITTLE NOLA MAKE IT THROUGH

This is Nola - a precious young little soul who has a story filled with sadness and abandonment. I met Nola 4 months earlier in Campsie, a suburb in Sydney. I was driving home from feeding some strays and noticed her and 3 other cats, so I stopped had a good look and discovered someone was very hungry, emaciated and showing signs of an URI ( Upper respiratory infection), commonly known as cat flu. It was too late to knock on doors and ask questions, but I returned the next day and spoke with a family who informed me that Nola was sometimes fed by them, had 6 kittens that all died just weeks earlier, and was abandoned by the people next door when they moved out. My heart just sank. I immediately started contacting rescues, ones known to me and ones not. It was a firm no from everyone until Barnville Rescue Cats put their hand up without hesitation.

Arrangements were being made with the family to keep Nola safe for 2 weeks and I would go there everyday to medicate and feed her. Things weren't adding up though, the medication didn't appear to be working as it should have, Nola was making grunting sounds when she ate and her breathing appeared abnormal.
She was taken to the vet for xrays. The vet concluded that some abnormalities in her chest and lungs appeared to be fluid, possibly indicating aspiration. How? No one knows, but it happens.

The director of the rescue graciously took Nola in and continued with new medications. Things looked better for a little while, Nola was coming out of her shell & loving belly rubs, until she again started struggling with her breathing, had a horribly mucusy nose, drooling from the mouth and just started looking & acting poorly. She was suffering & no longer being her chirpy & playful self.

Nola was taken to another vet, repeat xrays were done, plus a CT scan. She was admitted into the vet overnight on medication and fluids, but the results bought some devastating news - Nola has cancer - a nodule in the sinus and one in the lung.

How can this happen to such a beautiful natured cat? The vet is now in discussions with the rescue, the recommendation is to take a biopsy and commence chemotherapy medication. We don't want to lose her, she's so young, so full of happiness and deserving of finally having a life filled with love and inclusiveness. She is adored by her rescue kitty brothers and sisters.

Please help Nola - the cost so far has come to $1648 for this vet visit alone. An estimate of another $1800 is needed to continue but more costs will follow with ongoing medications & treatment.

Barnville Rescue Cats said yes when everyone else said no. I ask that you stand by these beautiful cat saviours and donate, share, spread the word to help Nola. Cat rescue is tough, we see *so* much suffering and there's something we all can contribute to help. The sooner we can raise the funds, the sooner we can move onto the next plan, it's now pressing.

Please give what you can, the smallest amount is a step closer.

Thank you all for getting behind sweet little Nola. xo
