Please help Little Girl (aka LG)!
Tax deductible
Hi everyone! I have a sad update on our sweet LG. Sometime on the evening of Tues, Dec 27th, LG crossed the rainbow bridge.
✨
She was returned to my care after being released from hospitalization at AMC and we were optimistic for her future, but her little body gave out unexpectedly. Her breathing was greatly improved and it was a shock that she passed so suddenly.
The internal medical team at AMC that treated her believe she likely suffered a “vascular event” such as a stroke or clot or other blood flow abnormality. Nothing she had been diagnosed with or treated for would have contributed to a sudden death like that.
I am happy to say that she had a great few weeks before she passed. She was more playful and affectionate than ever. She was comfortable, warm and had a full belly of food. I think she knew she was loved and that we tried our best for her.
I want to thank you all for your donations that gave our LG the best possible chance and relieved her of the immediate suffering that first landed her in the hospital.
She was a sweet little tortie and I’m glad to have known her and been able, with the help of others and Greenpoint Cats, to get her inside and out of the precariousness of life in the alley. Even though LG was looked after, even in the best scenarios the life of a street cat is a constant struggle. Struggle for food, warmth in winter, respite from the summer heat, dodging cars, rat poison and other dangers. Not to mention, she was deaf! It was a relief to get her off the street and into the safety and security of a home and the medical attention she desperately needed.
She had a wonderful year of firsts with her initial foster, Jamie, and made some great strides. I am grateful to him for taking a chance on her and allowing a cat who had never lived indoors, a home! And of course thanks to Greenpoint Cats for all of their help in making all of that happen and getting her the best care possible when she needed it most. Thanks also to Holly and Pete for always helping out with her feedings and care when I was away and providing a proper winter shelter. ❤️
I’m sad it didn’t turn out better for her, but so grateful she knew caring and love and happiness in her last year.
Please continue to support Greenpoint Cats for all the work they do on behalf of cats in need. Any donations in her memory will be most appreciated and go to helping other kitties have the best chance for a good life!!
RIP, sweet LG! ❤️ ️ Thanks to all of you for your support.
