Please help Lazlo and his Mom

Most of you know about the incident that occurred at C Bar C on March 11, 2022

where an inexperienced dog owner bent down into a gang of overly excited dogs to

"rescue" her puppy and Lazlo's mouth collided with her face. As a result, Lazlo lost his

freedom and he has been under quarantine ever since.

Despite all of our statements in support of Lazlo's behavior, the Hearing Officer for

Animal Control has issued an Order that deems Lazlo a vicious dog and requires his

person, Flo Sullivan, to do a multitude of things that will cost a fortune. Just to name a

few: his license will now cost $300; he will need to have a dog run built to required

specifications; all doors in Flo's house will need to be self-closing; Lazlo will have to be

enrolled in a behavior modification training program with a minimum of 12 sessions; Flo

will need to obtain $100,000 worth of liability insurance; Flo will have to pay all of the

court costs involved in the hearing, etc. This is in addition to the $1,000 bond that Flo

had to post to get Lazlo out of lock-up and the $118 a day that they charged her to

lock him up. Additionally, any further legal action that she wants to pursue (like an

appeal) will require hiring legal counsel.

We all agree that Lazlo is NOT a vicious dog but this is what the "law" requires to keep

him alive now. What happened was clearly an accident and any one of our dogs could

have been involved. The financial consequences are beyond the scope of what most

of us can afford so we are hoping we can pool our resources to help Flo and Lazlo

comply with the Order. Whatever you can spare will be greatly appreciated!
