In memory Travis Lane Martinez

Brittany and Dylan were high school sweethearts and planned their lives with precision. After college, they began their careers before taking their vows and getting married in 2018.
Two years later, they were established ready to start their family and try for their first child. Brittany found out that she was pregnant in early December of 2020. So, as they do with anything, they began researching any and everything about her pregnancy. They took as many precautions as possible to protect their baby from Covid.
She had no real physical complications during her pregnancy, with the exception of not being able to reach the clothes in the washing machine as she got into her third trimester, LOL!!!
As the beginning of September approached, everyone was getting more excited by the day. They decided to go the old fashioned way and wait until the baby was born to find out if God would bless them with a boy or a girl, so we were all on pins and needles, waiting the arrival of baby “M” (Martinez).
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the time came!
This was certainly going to be the happiest day of their lives!
Fast forward to that evening and what was supposed to be the happiest day, quickly turned into any parents worst nightmare.
Brittany ended up having an emergency c-section. Travis was immediately put on a ventilator and life flighted to Memorial Hermann Children’s hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX.
Travis was literally fighting for his life. The following 40 hours were a grueling time of ups and downs and prayers from people near and far.
Early Friday morning, things took a turn for the worst. Travis was so tired, his little heart just could not pump hard enough and his little body began to shut down. He was now relying 100% on life support. It was clear that Travis was about to gain his Angel wing.
Brittany, Dylan and their parents were moved into a private family room where Travis was brought to them. They cherished the short time they had with him.
I cannot fathom the gut wrenching decision to be forced to say goodbye to your newborn baby and turn off the life support machines.
Endless amounts of adrenaline diminished, exhaustion set in and the pain from Brittany’s c-section became more intense. After checking her over and giving pain medication, they were released to go home.
Again, I cannot imagine the sadness they felt when they arrived home to a home and nursery setup and ready for their baby who never got to come home. I just remember praying
“God, please wrap your arms around them and comfort them as they process all of this.”
Now comes the time when they really need as much help as possible. As you can imagine, Brittany and Dylan spent so much time and money preparing for the blessing, and now they had to lay their precious baby boy to rest.
From a funeral service, casket, burial plot and everything else that comes with laying Travis to rest, not to imagine the medical bills that will be pouring in.
They do have insurance, so that will help with some of the medical bill, but it is unclear at this time if their life insurance will pay anything.
Regardless, we need your help.
If you are in a place financially and able to donate, please give what you can. Every gift is so important and will be a huge, much needed blessing that helps get them on the road to recovering and healing their hearts.
We thank you all from the bottom of our heart.
