Dear family and friends,

We share the news that Lauchlan McCabe, has recently been diagnosed with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Lauchie is a much loved member of our community and hockey family. He has been guarding the net with Pownal Minor Hockey for years. But most important he is a son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend.

A 15 year-old student at Vernon River Consolidated school, he is charismatic, quirky, fun and always dialled in. If you know him, you know he is a competitor and always up for a challenge. But with this fight, he needs our help.

Lauchie is facing a long road to recovery. A 2.5 year protocol broken down into 3 main phases. Eventually he will be able to get some of his chemotherapy in PEI and some will be in Halifax. A lot of back and forth travel for him and his family between both provinces over the next few years.

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide support for Lauchie and his family during this challenging time. All funds raised will go directly towards medical expenses, gas, ferry crossings, lodging, food and other unforeseen costs incurred.

Terry and Janessa will both be spending up to the first month with Lauchie in Halifax. Fortunately they have family support on PEI to help with Beckett and Lenlee, Lauchie’s brother and sister, who will be staying home but also hope to travel back and forth to visit.

Any amount of support in Lauchlan’s fight would be very appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we ask for your support through well wishes, prayers and possibly sharing his story and campaign.
