Helping Lamar during his recovery.
Donation protected
On September 1, 2021 Our dear Friend, Lamar Key was admitted to Rancho Springs Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. He spent a week there getting the care needed to recover from covid and was released. About 4 days later he began having excruciating pain in his abdomen and was then taken to Inland Valley Medical center where he was told he had Diverticulitis. He stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks before the Doctors then performed a surgery to remove the infected abscess. During this surgery Lamar went into Septic shock and was sent to the ICU and put on a ventilator. Then followed 3 more surgeries in an effort to clear the infection, perform a colostomy, perform a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) also known as a feeding tube, and lastly a Tracheotomy. Although there were many complications he kept fighting to survive and on Saturday November 13th he was released from the hospital and sent to the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital where they have been helping him to relearn our basic skills. Lamar has had to relearn how to talk, eat, stand, walk, and everything in between that we often take for granted with our ability to care for ourselves. All donations will help Lamar get back on his feet as he continues to recover and get his strength back in order to be able to return to building his meal prep business and get back in the kitchen where he loves to be! Thank you all for taking the time to read Lamar's story and donate to a good cause!
